Banyan Tree Tour

Day 1: Kunming - Lijiang:
Depart Kunming airport for your flight to Lijiang, a UNESCO World Heritage City and home to the magnificent Banyan Tree Lijiang. One of the world’s most stunning spa resorts, Banyan Tree Lijiang opened in 2006 and is located just 15 minutes from the picturesque old town. Spend the rest of the afternoon discovering this ancient capital of the Naxi Kingdom, built over 800 years ago in the Song Dynasty and located 2400 metres above sea level. Explore Lijiang's narrow streets and canals, the picturesque Market Square or the revered Black Dragon Pool at the foot of Elephant Hill.

Day 2: Lijiang:
At leisure to further explore the city and your spectacular resort. Common to all Banyan Tree properties is the signature spa offering a multitude of indulgent treatments for body and soul – the perfect way to unwind.

Day 3: Lijiang - Tiger Leaping Gorge:
An early morning start for the picturesque drive from Lijiang through spectacular mountain scenery to Tiger Leaping Gorge. Enjoy a relaxing trek along the gorge and a picnic lunch before continuing on to a well earned rest at the Banyan Tree Ringha located in Zhongdian, also known as Shangri-La. This spectacular resort deservedly made the Top New Hotels list in Conde Nast's Hot List for 2006. (L - picnic)

Day 4: Shangri-La:
At leisure to enjoy your resort or perhaps take an optional tour to Songzanlin Monastery or join one of the many treks offered by the resort (own expense). Shangri-la is a truly beautiful area dotted with monasteries, orchards and picturesque pastures. For the less energetic the Banyan Tree Spa is on your doorstep.

Day 5: Shangri-La - Kunming:
Depart for Diqing airport and your flight back to Kunming where your tour ends.||Alternatively you can choose to stay at Gyalthang Dzong, sister property to the Banyan Tree when in Ringha. Prices for the 5 day tour start at £333.
