Rocky Mountaineer
No journey through Canada’s mountainous western provinces would be complete without the unforgettable experience of a rail trip aboard the famed Rocky Mountaineer. The First Passage to the West offers service from Banff and Calgary to Vancouver, with an overnight in Kamloops. The Rainforest to Gold Rush travels between the all- season resort towns of Whistler and Jasper, with an overnight in Quesnel. And on Sea to Sky Climb enjoy the comforts and stellar views during a three hour premier service linking Vancouver and Whistler.

Travelling in the comfort of Rocky Mountaineer’s RedLeaf service is an experience as memorable and enjoyable as the stunning scenery that will captivate you on your two-day journey.
Relax and enjoy true comfort in an air-conditioned, smoke-free environment, where you can stroll along your train car and converse with fellow travellers, or recline in your seat and watch the rivers run, the mountains rise and ‘Great Outdoors’ soothe your soul.
Chilled breakfasts and lunches are served at your seat by the experienced and knowledgeable onboard attendants, offering local dishes and a choice of alcoholic (at a charge) and non-alcoholic drinks.

GoldLeaf Service
To travel in GoldLeaf is to travel in a style reminiscent of the Victorian gentry for whom these tracks were laid a century or so ago, but with the 180 degree views you will have from your seat in the ‘Dome Coach’.
Step aboard your air-conditioned, smoke-free, ‘Dome Coach’ and immerse yourself in luxury. Enjoy the companionship of your fellow travellers either inside or out, as the ‘Dome Coach’ offers a vestibule for you to step outside and catch a closer look at nature!
Be wined and dined in the dining car where table service is on offer and be sure to sample some amazing food. Gourmet menus vary , but don’t miss the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon for breakfast, and wash down a lunch of succulent Alberta beef with some of the fine wines stocked on board.

Whistler Sea To Sky Climb

The Whistler Sea to Sky Climb operates between Vancouver and Whistler. Journey along the route of the Sea-to-Sky Highway following the scenic coast of Howe Sound, and link these two superb destinations for a fantastic twin-centre holiday. Alternatively, use it as a way of joining up with the Rainforest to Goldrush service between Whistler and Jasper. Two levels of service are available, the Classic with panoramic windows and the Whistler Dome which boasts panoramic views from full-length dome windows.

Rainforest to Goldrush
Route
Day 1: Whistler - Quesnel
Journey onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from Whistler to Quesnel, the gateway to the North Cariboo Mountains. Pass through the river canyons and lush farmlands of the Pemberton Valley and onto the rolling hills of the Cariboo Plateau. Highlights of your day will include crossing over Deep Creek Bridge, one of the world’s highest railway bridges, the shorelines of the Anderson Lake and the glacier-fed Seton Lake, before following the banks of the Fraser River into Quesnel. Day 2: Quesnel - Jasper
Turn east from Quesnel and head north to the Rocky Mountains and Jasper National Park. As the train meanders through the forests of Northern British Columbia, keep your eyes peeled for bears and other wildlife such as moose, and gaze in awe as you journey through the Rocky Mountain Trench with the Rockies on one side and the Cariboo Mountains on the other. Pass by Mt Robson, the highest peak in the Rockies, and roll on through Yellowhead Pass, over the Continental Divide and into the mountain town of Jasper. (BL)

Journey Through the Clouds Route
Day 1: Vancouver - Kamloops
Journey onboard the famed Rocky Mountaineer train from Vancouver to the rugged British Columbia interior town of Kamloops. Following the same itinerary as day one on the First Passage to the West, take time to admire the Fraser and Thompson Canyons. Sit back and make the most of the train, as you listen to the interpretative commentary provided by the onboard attendants. (BL)

Day 2: Kamloops - Jasper
Head east into the Rockies today, following the North Thompson River through the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains, and getting ever nearer to the towering peaks that straddle the Continental Divide. You will pass by Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Rockies at 12,972 feet, and Pyramid Falls as you climb the Yellowhead Pass into Jasper National Park, where your dramatic rail journey ends in Jasper. Make your own way to your chosen hotel and enjoy the charms of this quaint and rugged mountain town. (BL)

First Passage to the West Route
Day 1: Vancouver - Kamloops
Journey onboard the famed Rocky Mountaineer train from Vancouver to Kamloops, in the arid heart of British Columbia. Passing through the lush Fraser River Valley, you will travel in the shadows of the Coast and Cascade Mountains before encountering the steep cliffs and rapids at Hell's Gate. After leaving the course of the Fraser River, you will follow the clearer waters of the Thompson River into Kamloops.

Day : Kamloops - Banff/Calgary
The Rockies await you today, as the train climbs past Shuswap Lake and into the foothills, passing ranchlands, rocky lakeshores and historic Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven. Before you enter the Rockies, pass through the Spiral Tunnels and Yoho National Park before crossing over the Continental Divide into Banff National Park where your epic journey will end in the town of Banff, unless you decide to head to the Stampede City of Calgary.
